My friend has patiently been waiting as the surgery had to be rescheduled due to the Dr. being ill. The orthopedist said Teddy tolerated everything really well. The foot has to rest and the swelling stabilized before the plastic surgeon can put the final skin flap on. You can click on each picture to see what is happening. Here is Donnalee's explanation: His name is Koda...aka "Smallish Bear". He belongs to my 17-year-old son Matthew. He got Koda for Christmas in 2003 when he was only 4 because he loved the movie Brother Bear. Matty hauled this little guy with him EVERYWHERE!! One day we went grocery shopping and left him in the cart Matthew cried all the way back to rescue his smallish bear. Over the years Koda has been his little sidekick that he never outgrew. He has gone on every family vacation and several Mission Trips tucked lovely in Matty's suitcase everywhere he ever goes. He has been to Guatemala and most recently went on a cruise to Aruba. Because we have dogs, Matthew is always very careful to keep Koda up where they can't get him. When our two new Foster Boys moved in, Matthew's room moved to the basement. During the transition of moving, our dog Pistol found Koda and treated him like a dog toy my poor 17-year-old cried his eyes out. He was devastated. I secretly stole him and took him to Sandy. I plan to surprise him with him on Christmas Eve. So Matthew is the youngest of five...he is the baby of our family and my and Jim's only child together. When he was super tiny...around 3 I think, we used to lay in bed with him and play with flashlights on the ceiling and play the "I love you this.....much" game....I love you to the mini-mart and back...oh yay??? Well, I love you to Worlds of Fun and back...Well I love you to the moon and back!!! One night we were competing on how much we "loved" each other and Matthew sat up in the bed and said, "Oh yah...Oh Yah... Well I love you...I Love you....152!!!!!" And then he settled back on the pillows convinced he had won...because in his mind, 152 was the biggest number he could think of! Over the years, this has become our family endearment, "I love you 152". And when anyone asks us what is that?? Matty will look at them and say, "Don't you know??? 152 is as much as you can ever love anybody"
